Curtis L. Dykstra
Curt graduated from Illinois State University in 1972 with a B.S. degree in accounting.
He passed the uniform CPA exam in 1973, during the only time in our history where government imposed wage/price controls were in effect, and during which time he worked for a Fortune 500 company as an internal auditor.
Since 1974, Curt has been in the practice of public accounting, joining this firm as a shareholder in 1984, and preferring the small firm experiences to those of large firms in large cities. Those small firm experiences have enabled him to perform audit, consulting and tax advisory and preparation services to a wide range of clientele and industries. If you asked him, he would say that his professional accomplishments have been modest, as he has sought to balance career involvement with the call to serve family, faith and community, and the eternal restoration of a 1960 Corvette. Curt presently serves on governance boards of Hospice of Kankakee Valley and Bourbonnais Community High School Foundation, and is on the finance committee of his church. Some of his past experiences involved serving as a team captain on quality reviews of other CPA firms directed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, board member and Treasurer, Provena Senior Services (a healthcare organization) and Kankakee Rotary Club (President 1987), board member and past Chairman, College Church of the Nazarene, and the typical events and activities that come with being a husband and father of three sons.
Curt never was an artist, but he has tried to sculpt his life around principles of honesty and integrity, and oh, yes, if you asked him, he would say the other people you find here, his partners, are all great people.
