Keith Ohm - Shareholder
Keith graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1992. Upon graduation he worked for a year at National City Bank. He also earned the CPA designation in 1992 and then joined Smith, Koelling, Dykstra and Ohm P.C. Accountant and Advisor as a staff accountant in 1993. He became a shareholder in 2003.
Lawrence Ohm - Shareholder
Larry has been a shareholder at SKDO for over 30 years . He believes SKDO is a great organization to work at and our internal attitude projects through to our friendliness to our clients and other professional relationships.
Marcie Meents Kolberg - Shareholder
Marcie is a shareholder of Smith, Koelling, Dykstra, and Ohm, P.C., and has been in public accounting since 1983. She is a May 1983 graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. degree in accounting.
Marcie serves governmental, nonprofit and financial institutions in a broad range of industries. She has experience in auditing, tax planning and preparation, business consulting, and accounting services.
Michael L. Stroud - Shareholder
Mike is currently the managing shareholder at SKDO. He began his career here in 1990 and became a partner in 1998. Mike enjoys working with a wide variety of small to mid-sized businesses with a focus on small business, agribusiness and manufacturing clients.
Richard S. Stenzinger - Shareholder
Dick graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with an accounting major and an economics minor, and began working with Smith, Koelling, Dykstra, and Ohm, P.C. upon graduation.
He became a shareholder in the firm in 1986 and has been instrumental in the development of our Morris office.
Vicki DeYoung - Shareholder
Vicki DeYoung is a Shareholder with SKDO. Her areas of expertise include tax consulting and preparation, business consulting, computer systems/software analysis and investment analysis. She enjoys serving small to mid-sized businesses by assisting business owners and leaders in recognizing and enhancing key components related to success in their individual markets and industries.
Wayne D. Koelling - Shareholder
Wayne Koelling is a shareholder at SKDO and has been a CPA since 1975. He joined the firm in 1976 and became a shareholder in 1979. His degree in accounting is from the University of Illinois and included an emphasis on computerized accounting and management systems.
Curtis L. Dykstra - Principal
Curt's role with the Firm has taken on an evolutionary nature since divestiture of his equity interest as a shareholder in 2012. The landscape looking back is with gratitude for a number of rewarding experiences: a solid education from Illinois State University in 1972 leading to a B.S. in accounting and achievement of CPA recognition and a career devoted almost entirely to the practice of public accounting.
Mark L. Smith - Principal
Mark was a founding shareholder/officer of Smith, Koelling, Dykstra, and Ohm, P.C., and has been in public accounting since 1971. He attended Lewis University where he graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in accounting. In 1972, he sat for and passed the CPA examination.
In 1974, he opened his own practice, which within a year had grown into a partnership with Donald Bacon.
Carmen Huizenga - Director of Audit and Accounting Services
Carmen Huizenga is currently the audit director at SKDO. She primarily works with various governmental and not-for-profit organizations in our community and has the pleasure of working with several staff members and shareholders. Carmen also serves on SKDO’s quality control team, the personnel committee, and the Illinois CPA Society’s Governmental Report Review Committee.
Karen Hassett - Director of Taxation
Karen is currently the tax director at SKDO. Her primary responsibilities include implementing firm procedures for the tax line, training staff in various areas of tax, hiring qualified staff based upon firm needs, reviewing and preparing tax returns for individuals and small business, and implementing firm human resource policies.
Theresa (Terry) E. Stading - Director of Estates and Trusts
Terry comes to SKDO with over 25 years of experience in public accounting, spending most of her time in the areas of fiduciary accounting, estate planning and administration, and taxation. With her training and experience, represented by the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), Accredited Estate Planner (AEP)® and CPA designations, Terry is uniquely qualified to deal with the complex issues trusts and estates encounter.
Karen Benson - Tax Manager
Karen Benson is a tax manager at SKDO, primarily working in the tax compliance and consulting side of the firm. She enjoys working with a variety of clients, but specializes in small to mid-sized business tax preparation, consulting, and financial reporting.
Michael Kolberg - Herscher Office Manager
Michael serves as the manager of the Herscher office. He graduated from Illinois State University with a B. S. degree in accounting in 1978 and passed the CPA exam in 1978.
Cheryl Ringler - Accountant
Cheryl has been with SKDO since 2007 working as a Staff Accountant. She works primarily in the tax department preparing corporate and individual tax returns, but also works on compilations and Personal Financial Statements. She is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and devotes time to helping clients with QuickBooks both at the office and out in the field.
Conner Stroud - Accountant
Conner began his career at SKDO after completing two internships including the summer of 2015 and tax season of 2016 during his last semester. He focuses a majority of his time with the audit team working on audits of the firm’s not-for-profit and governmental clients. During tax season he also spends time working on individual tax returns for the firm.
Evan Perkins - Accountant
Evan started with SKDO in 2006 after working for a couple private firms in Chicago. He primarily works as part of the tax compliance, tax planning and business consulting side of SKDO, but also works with our audit department on specialized audit areas including grain elevators and employee benefit plans.
Jackie Meils - Accountant
Jackie has been a staff accountant at SKDO since she started her accounting career back in 2011. She works for both the audit and tax departments and enjoys the challenge of balancing both of these industry areas.
Jaclyn Morgan - Accountant
Jaci joined SKDO as a Staff Accountant back in 2013. She has experience preparing both corporate and personal tax returns and is proficient in QuickBooks.
Jordan Chandler - Accountant
Jordan has been a Staff Accountant with us since August 2013. Before being hired full-time, she spent a tax season interning at SKDO. As a relatively new member of our team, her workload is diverse but it generally consists of individual and corporate tax returns and various parts of governmental and nonpublic audits, compilations, and reviews.
Nichole Modschiedler - Accountant
Nichole has been a Staff Accountant with SKDO since November 2014. Prior to SKDO, she worked in an accounting office in the private sector. As a new member of the SKDO team, her current job responsibilities are diverse, but mainly tax oriented.
Scott Styck - Accountant
Scott started with SKDO in 2008 after graduating from Concordia University Chicago. He primarily works as part of the tax preparing and tax planning side of SKDO, but also performs agreed upon procedures regarding inventory. He enjoys working with companies to understand their unique businesses and building a relationship with them.
Tamara Lockwood - Accountant
Tamara graduated from Illinois State University in May of 1994, with a B.S. degree in accounting. She passed the uniform CPA exam in May of 1994. Tamara is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
Therese Caraway - Accountant
Terri Caraway is a tax accountant with SKDO. She started with the firm in 1995. Her areas of expertise include tax return preparation and consulting for individuals and businesses. She enjoys the challenges of solving problems for her clients and assisting her business clients with start-up, organizing, and strategizing to maximize their profits.
